All bungled, right on down to the use of snipers. Syria, bungled too. With all this bungling and new alignments emerging, things look bad for American empire builders.
I don't agree that America needs a global empire, I'm just noting that the Grand Chessboard doesn't look that great now, if you're into that sort of thing. Hopefully no one gets mad enough about their strategeries failing to try to flip the whole thing off the table because pawns usually fall off first.
Supposedly talking to the Saudis:
Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) with the Saudi Arabian Defence Minister, China’s first vice-premier of the State Council, the Prime Minister of Mongolia and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as well as representatives of Russian business circles and the international investment community. As far as I'm concerned he's welcome to have the Saudis as his proxy terrorist "allies in the region." Just a few months ago I think they were pretty much openly threatening him with proxy terrism similar to what they did to US.
