People are more empathetic to others who are not only geographically closer to home, but also racially, culturally and economically closer to home as well. It's human nature.

The author of this video wants to believe that technique transcends that little evil tendency, doesn't he? That just because we have the technical means to know what goes on in other parts of the world, that it somehow equates to the same human relationships to the people we see and interract with every day. But until the evolving hive mind can effectively control or eliminate that aspect of human nature, such will continue to be the case.

The ultimate property of the hive mind (the evolving singularity?) mandates that I feel just as angered at some woman I don't know in Tanzania being raped as I would my own wife. When the glorious whole of the human experience is mediated by technique, what's the difference? When one stands atop the tower of Babel, everyone below looks the same (even though I can't reach out and touch any one of them - at least not without some sort of technical thingamajig).

I tune out, therefore I am! 

I don't really have time to meditate on knowledge the way these issues deserve, so these days I usually just write. So take it for what it is worth. But there are some short cuts, usually in the Bible. In this case, "Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated." And this is while being well aware ("I AM...") that Jacob used a technique of deception with respect to his identity. In other words, real love, real forgiveness, real redemption, real awareness and so on is not a matter of technique or the manipulation of empathy and love through technology... it is what it is. (And therefore it is either revealed to you through some technique or it is not.) You may tune out from the military industrial complex and manipulations of perceptions with drugs like the 1960s types? Yet, that's still another technique. Technical bluff? Not to mention that it was probably CIA agents that shifted people's perceptions and trends toward LSD* in the first place. "Wait, these people are still trending toward wanting peace and love or somethin'? Imagine that! Wait, don't... central intelligence isn't psychopathic and we assassinate because we care!" The British East India Company and the Company** they keep in general, bringing on the hopium and change since 1776? Maybe, maybe not... after all, would you necessarily think that techniques with respect to mind control were successful if they were? ;-) *

Project MKUltra is the code name for a covert research operation experimenting in the behavioral engineering of humans (mind control) through the CIA's Scientific Intelligence Division. What were the Unabomber, Holmes*** and possibly even Lanza involved in, again? Although with respect to Lanza, these days they don't even have to get too close to the epicenters of corruption. After all, a local lemming merely following psychiatric trends and the best marketing techniques that money can buy($$$$) May think nothing of prescribing mind altering drugs to them. Anyway, shew... MK Ultra is all in the past but now everyone is just full of love for each other. That was then, this is now. Forward. Progress!

Just as the British Empire was in part financed by their control of the opium trade through the British East India Company, so too has the CIA been found time after time to be at the heart of the modern international drug trade. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is based on Ericksonian hynosis. The two originators of NLP, Bandler & Grinder, dropped out of sight in the late Seventies and re-surfaced about five years later. The scuttlebutt in the psychology community (my modest Bachelors is in psych) was they were working for Madison Avenue, the Pentagon, or both. Never had any confirmation of that, but they were invisible for several years, and anyone that's used NLP knows it is one of the most effective covert-persuasion techniques around.

There's a fairly large military-intelligence community around here, thanks to the large Federal presence in Colorado Springs (NORAD) and numerous Federal science labs in Boulder and Fort Collins, not to mention the former Rocky Flats nuclear reprocessing facility (now shut down and converted into a wildlife park).

During WWII, Denver was intended as a backup national capital under the worst-case scenario of the East and West Coasts being attacked by the Axis. Thus, the large Federal presence around here, which grew during the Cold War years.

Curious to hear your views on the whole MK-Ultra thing. 95% of the stuff on the Web is disinformation, I'm sure, but somehow I doubt the CIA would just walk away from it, just because they said they did in the 1975 Church Committee hearings.
