Voters have spoken, so stop the whining
Doug Holveck, Newark
"[.....]You have lumped us into two groups, the right-wing Christian extremists/homophobics or the rich and powerful who do not care about anything but themselves.
Well I have another label for you and it is getting bigger by the day. The middle class families that put their faith in God, go to work every day, pay their taxes, raise their families with the morals and values we believe in, all without whining and complaining. This is America and you are entitled to your beliefs, but do not tell me or 59 million other Americans that we are ignorant or stupid just because we do not agree with you.
[......]"
Besides, Leftist atheistic kooks are the ones that are ignorant and stupid. But in watching the news shows some and the like, they're still at it with the same ol' tune. There is the fear-mongering with respect to "religion" and the like, a word for journalists that is mainly just a buzzword useful for fear-mongering or for Leftist politicians the term is generally a marketing gimmick to try to get elected. It is odd because the Leftist politician will use the term both ways, for fear-mongering as well as a gimmick. Their own religion seems to be, "Jesus was just a nice guy who wants you to give something to the poor. You know, by letting Caesar and his degenerate and corrupt senators give something to the poor for you. So give us your money, lest we call you greedy bastards!"
To the Leftist politician this is good, so good. It is just what Jesus would have.
But religion that says anything on "sexy" issues like marriage, stem cells, abortion, gays or creation is bad, so bad! All that has to do with sex and procreation of the creation of Life must be left to naturalism/secularism. But really, Christianity does focus on that quite a bit, in fact it seems to be quite a sexy sort of religion. And "sexist" too....perhaps it is best to have the notes and the tunes of the types and patterns played in stereo, like the tune of the Yin and the Yang.
Behind what most Leftists are saying are concerns about the patterns of "stereotype" and what seems to be little more than a rebellion against the Creator.

Those who have eyes, let them see.
The combined circumstance that we live on Earth and are able to see stars— that the conditions necessary for life do not exclude those necessary for vision, and vice versa—is a remarkably improbable one.—Hans Blumenberg
This is because the medium in which we live is, on the one hand, just thick enough to enable us to breathe and to prevent us from being burned up by cosmic rays, while, on the other hand, it is not so opaque as to absorb entirely the light of the stars and block any view of the universe.
What a fragile balance between the indispensable and the sublime.
To truly appreciate our good fortune, [in being able to see quite far] at least once everyone should stand on a mountaintop under the open sky, on a clear, moonless night. The air is so clear, and the stars so vivid, that only your lungs will remind your eyes that you’re on a planet with an atmosphere.
Consider the atmosphere’s transparency, which is actually just part of the story. Our atmosphere participates in one of the most extraordinary coincidences known to science: an eerie harmony among the range of wavelengths of light emitted by the Sun, transmitted by Earth’s atmosphere, converted by plants into chemical energy, and detected by the human eye. The human eye perceives light of different wavelengths as different colors, ranging from violet blue (the shortest wavelengths in the visible spectrum) to red (the longest). Looking at a diagram of the electromagnetic spectrum, we see the visible light emerging gracefully from the ultraviolet, differentiating into the familiar colors of the rainbow, and disappearing seamlessly into the warm, invisible infrared. The visible wavelengths rise and fall at the nano-scale, the distances from their peaks measured in ten-billionths of a meter, called Angstroms (A). We see blue at approximately 4,800 A, green at 5,200 A, yellow at 5,800 A, and red at 6,600 A. Earth’s atmosphere is transparent to radiation between 3,100 to 9,500 A and to the much longer radio wavelengths. The radiation we see is near the middle of that range, between 4,000 and 7,000 A, the range in which the Sun emits 40 percent of its energy. Its spectrum peaks smack in the middle of this visible spectrum, at 5,500 A. This is but a tiny sample of the entire range.
[.......]
As it happens, our atmosphere strikes a nearly perfect balance, transmitting most of the radiation that is useful for life while blocking most ofthe lethal energy.

the Cosmos is Designed for Discovery,
by Guillermo Gonzalez and Jay W. Richards :65-67)
Those who have eyes, let them see. Stated another way, there is a lot of evidence, much more than that, that habitability (Life, those who have eyes.) is associated with measurability (Let them see, read. See the signs, read the signs...).
Yet in reading the Bible, Jesus and the prophets already said it. Those who have ears, let them hear. Those who have been designed and designated as seekers, let them find. Those who have a mind, let them think through their brain.
And the masses, the metaphoric "sand on the seashore" that was always meant to run the human race that is layed out for it, let them run. It all seems to be just so, everything layed out in patterns so that human civilization can rise quite high. But perhaps to those at the end of the race, to whom much is given, much is required.
For those who want knowledge and answers as to this part of the race, the human race, you probably will get some at the end of it. It seems that one way, or another way.... your mind will have its answer. The call of the prophets is to see the Sign and hear the Word now, yet even now your mind probably rejects it. Mine often does too, for that matter...
It seems, very sensible to try to see and hear it now. It makes sense. Besides, the absence of sense is nonsense.

Only one Leftist today...
Conservatives happy to collect benefits
Fred Harpster Sr., Milton
"Like Community View columnist Artika Rangan, I too am a bleeding-heart liberal Democrat at 77 years of age and proud of it. When the right-wing conservatives collect Social Security, unemployment insurance, etc., I wonder that they have the guts to do so because without liberals fighting for such things since the 1930s they wouldn't exist."
Instead of a bankrupt system created by liberals that cannot continue we would be forced to be responsible about retirement. But given that people are self-interested, to say the least, they tend to do a better job of planning for retirement than the government does of planning one for them. That's why the parasitic "system" that bleeding heart liberals created cannot continue.
I do not expect to collect social security because that money is being spent to support guys like this, right now. There are other nations like Australia and Chile that have proven the liberal "system" on this is inferior.
In the end, if the people of any nation cannot stop spending money and plan ahead a little bit then no system will work.
Hmmm, Social Security is a boring issue.
Oh well, later!

Evolutionism and the End of Civilization.
Watch for the merging of human and animal in the decline and fall of any civilization, which is also a part of evolutionist ideology. What most evolutionists are after is the mere merging of all into a "great chain of being." These were the sorts of notions that were rationales for American slavery and the Hindu caste system.
Essentially, all evolutionists do is use anything that blurrs the animal kingdoms of mammalian, avian, reptilian and so on together. Pretty much anything will do, if flying fish exist then that picture shows up in the National Geographic as some sort of evidence. Evidence of what, one might ask? Just blurring in general....for it is not as if fish can turn to birds by mere random mutation and Nature's "selection." Selection is the imputation of intelligence to something. It seems to sneak in there somehow. It should be natural happenstance. So you would have a chance mutation being acted on by more natural happenstance.
The argument looks more like what a teenager says to their parents when they get in trouble, "I got her pregnant. It just happened."
Here is what just happened to happen in Rwanda, the end of civlization and a rise of animalization. People began calling another group of people cockroaches and merging the categories of human and animal. This happened while Bill Clinton used the definition of genocide to avoid the issue. For it all depends on what the definition of is, is....and what the defintion of genocide is. But that was his private life...or was it public? I guess that depends on what the definition of private, is.
The Tutsis were put in power by German imperialists based on some of the same ideas that later led to Nazism because they were closer to Europeans than Hutus. They believed that lighter skin, lighter hair, etc., is superior or desirable. It is a universal prejudice. Indians, Hindus, whoever, we all seem to have it. This plays a part in this story. These little things about humans, turn to big things.
So an ethnic caste system developed that remained in place after the colonialists left in the 1960s and resentment of the Tutsis by the Hutus grew, Hutus grew envious of the Tutsis.
Envy, it seems like a little thing too. Note, do not read this if you do not want to see the depth of Evil that lies in wait at the end of civilization. It's hard to believe that most of it was caused just by envy. Thou shall not covet....
"Gender hate propaganda was perhaps the most virulent component of the propaganda campaign. Propagandists portrayed Tutsi women as enemies of the state, used by Tutsi men to "infiltrate Hutu ranks."Propagandists claimed Tutsi women were more beautiful and desirable, but "inaccessible to Hutu men whom they allegedly looked down upon and were "too good for.'" This characterization led to what one Tutsi woman explained as an indescribable hate. As such, "rape served to shatter these images by humiliating, degrading, and ultimately destroying the Tutsi woman.[.......]
The militia worked in groups, taking Tutsi women from their homes or out of hiding and gang-raping them, often multiple times. Many of the women who survived an individual or gang rape were picked up by another group of Interahamwe and raped again. Furthermore, the military and civilian authorities - including regular soldiers, members of the national police force, members of the elite Presidential Guard, burgomasters, and heads of sectors - condoned and encouraged the sexual violence.
The militia commonly employed sexual mutilation and public humiliation to heighten the suffering of their victims. Some women and girls "were stripped and/or slashed and exposed to public mockery" while others"had pieces of trees branches pushed into their vagina."Moreover, the perpetrators tortured their victims by mutilating their genitals and cutting off their breasts and buttocks. [.....]
Thus, the gendered anti-Tutsi images and rhetoric that pervadedRwandan society through gender-based hate propaganda were translated into the systemic violation of Rwandan women during the genocide. The "indescribable hate" instigated through gender hate propaganda played out in a horrific pattern of sexual violence, the effects of which continue to be felt by its survivors."

It is the ideas of evolutionism that fit some of those actions. It is the ideas of evolutionism that fit the philosophy of Nazism and genocide. Life is a struggle for survival, survival of the "fittest," people are nothing more than animals, and there is a merging of the categories together with perverse results. For example, these type of evolutionist ideas and values become ingrained in the propaganda.

There is the characteristic medicalization of politics in which all problems have a purely naturalistic "cure," including political problems. For the science and health of that. Exterminate the vermin, etc...
Evolutionism has nothing to say against Nazi type notions. Because it is a Nazi type notion. Philosophic naturalism leads to pseudo-scientific ideas that fit in quite well because they are at the root of Nazism.
Example,
"Our whole cultural life for decades has been more or less under the influence of biological thinking, as it was begun particularly around the middle of the last century, by the teachings of Darwin, Mendel, and Galton and afterwards has been advanced by the studies of Ploetz, Schallmeyer,Correns, de Vries, Tschermak, Baur, Riidin, Fischer,Lenz, and others. Though it took decades before the courage was found, on the basis of the initial findings ofthe natural sciences, to carry on a systematic study of heredity, the progress of the teaching and its applicationto man could not be delayed any more. It was recognizedthat the natural laws discovered for plants and animals ought also to be valid for man, and this could fully and completely be confirmed during the last three decades both through family research (Familienforschung) and through the study of bastards and twins."

It is "biological thinking" vs. thinking about biology. So you see there the spiritual monism of Nazism.
An abolitionist speaks against naturalism,

In contrast, it can be argued that American journalists are once again creating a pattern of evolutionistic propaganda and national socialism, i.e. Nazism. It's just hard to do with the Internet there, giving people an opportunity to make fun of them all the time. But still just last night Tom Brokaw ran a story on evolutionism with all the standard propaganda about "religion" and "science," etc. They seem to feel their way along using buzzwords that suit their pretentious arrogance. And that's about it for them.

The Empire...
"It has ever been my hobby-horse to see rising in America an empire of liberty, and a prospect of two or three hundred millions of freemen..."
--John Adams
--John Adams
Just the birds, not the bees...
"The evolution of birds is far more complex than the above discussion implies. In addition to the problem of the origin of the feather and flight, birds possess other unique adaptations which also seem to defy plausible evolutionary explanations. One such adaptation is the avian lung and respiratory system.
In all other vertebrates the air is drawn into the lungs through a system of branching tubes which finally terminate in tiny air sacs, or alveoli, so that during respiration the air is moved in and out through the same passage.
In the case of birds, however, the major bronchi break down into tiny tubes which permeate the lung tissue (see Figure 9.2). These so- called parabronchi eventually join up together again, forming a true circulatory system so that air flows in one direction through the lungs.
This unidirectional flow of air is maintained during both inspiration and expiration by a complex system of interconnected air sacs in the bird’s body which expand and contract in such a way so as to ensure a continuous delivery of air through the parabronchi. The existence of this air sac system in turn has necessitated a highly specialized and unique division of the body cavity of the bird into several compressible compartments. Although air sacs occur in certain reptilian groups, the structure of the lung in birds and the overall functioning of the respiratory system is quite unique. No lung in any other vertebrate species is known which in any way approaches the avian system. Moreover, it is identical in all essential details in birds as diverse as humming birds, ostriches and hawks.
Just how such an utterly different respiratory system could have evolved gradually from the standard vertebrate design is fantastically difficult to envisage, especially bearing in mind that the maintenance of respiratory function is absolutely vital to the life of an organism to the extent that the slightest malfunction leads to death within minutes. Just as the feather cannot function as an organ of flight until the hooks and barbules are coadapted to fit together perfectly, so the avian lung cannot function as an organ of respiration until the parabronchi system which permeates it and the air sac system which guarantees the parabronchi their air supply are both highly developed and able to function together in a perfectly integrated manner.
Moreover, the unique function and form of the avian lung necessitates a number of additional unique adaptations during avian development.
………
In attempting to explain how such an intricate and highly specialized system of correlated adaptations could have been achieved gradually through perfectly functional intermediates, one is faced with the problem of the feather magnified a thousand times.
The suspicion inevitably arises that perhaps no functional intermediate exists between the dead-end and continuous through-put types of lung. The fact that the design of the avian respiratory system is essentially invariant in ALL birds merely increases one’s suspicion that no fundamental variation of the system is compatible with the preservation of respiratory function. One is irresistibly reminded of Cuvier’s view that the great divisions of nature are grounded in necessity and that intermediates cannot exist because such forms are incoherent and non functional.”
